PRIVACY POLICY FOR APPLICATIONS (STATUS: FEBRUARY 2024)
INTRODUCTION
ALPEIN Software respects the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our mobile applications. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “STATUS” date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install Applications or make payments, including any virtual items, which may also collect and use data about you. We are not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.
1. COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Applications depends on the content and materials you use, and includes:
1.1 Personal Data
Demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your email address for free subscription plans, paid subscriptions require some additional data: name, address, company, phone number) that you voluntarily give to us when choosing to use the Application.
In addition to this data, we store a date of the Application registration and a date of the last login to the Application which are needed to perform our retention policy.
If you choose to share data about yourself via a chat Application, please be advised that all data you disclose there will be accessible to any participant of the chat until you delete it.
1.2 Derivative Data
When you access an Application, our server can send you a notification about a login from new device. This information is deleted from the server immediately after sending. Our Zero-knowledge concept of data storage prevents creating server logs of your activity in the Application.
1.3 Mobile Device Access
Applications may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s:
- Camera
- Microphone, audio settings
- Storage (incl. USB), access to media files
- Get info about installed apps
- Find and edit SWISS SECURIUM® accounts on the device
- Phone
- Devise ID, call information
- Network access / Wi-Fi / Bluetooth connections
- Receive data from Internet
- Vibration settings
- Prevent device from sleeping / run at startup / disable your screen lock
- Draw over other apps
- Toggle sync on and off
and other features. Not every Application requires all the permissions listed above. There’s the aggregated list of the permissions which might be requested by our Applications. If you wish to change app access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings or in the Application settings.
1.4 Mobile Device Data
Device information such as your mobile device ID number, model, and manufacturer, version of your operating system, location, install / uninstall / crush / non-responsive / update info and any other data you choose to provide.
This data is collected by App Store and Google Play and is available to ALPEIN Software in the application statistics in the aggregated form (depersonalized).
Mobile Device Data is also added to your support requests sent via the <Leave feedback> feature in some Applications. This data is visible to a user when composing the request.
1.5 Push Notification
We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or Applications. We use device ID, device name and IP for providing push notifications. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
Push notifications for Android are provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging. Push notifications for iOS are provided by Apple Push Notification Services.

1.6 Third Party Services
The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

2. USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Application to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Email you regarding your account or order.
- Enable user-to-user communications.
- Increase the efficiency and operation of Applications.
- Notify you of updates to the Applications.
- Respond to product and customer service requests.
- Resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.
- Solicit support for the Applications.
- Assist law enforcement and respond to subpoenas.
3. OPTIONS REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION
You can request from ALPEIN Software at any time information about which Personal Data processes about you and the correction or deletion of such Personal Data.
If ALPEIN Software uses your Personal Data based on your consent or to perform a contract with you, you may further request from ALPEIN Software a copy of the Personal Data that you have provided to ALPEIN Software. In this case, please contact the email address below and specify the information or processing activities to which your request relates, the format in which you would like this information, and whether the Personal Data is to be sent to you or another recipient. ALPEIN Software will carefully consider your request and discuss with you how it can best fulfill it.

- Request access to data that ALPEIN Software has about you
- Correct any data that ALPEIN Software has about you
- Delete any data that ALPEIN Software has about you

You may decline to share certain Personal Data with us, in which case we may not be able to provide to you some features and services.
At any time, you may object to the processing of your Personal Data on legitimate grounds, except if otherwise permitted by applicable law.
4. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Before disclosing your data to a third party, we will first notify you. Your information may be disclosed as follows:
4.1 By Law or to Protect Rights
If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law.
4.2 Affiliates
We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
4.3 Other Third Parties
We won’t share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4.4 Sale or Bankruptcy
If we reorganize or sell all or a portion of our assets, undergo a merger, or are acquired by another entity, we may transfer your information to the successor entity.
5. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal data. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.
6. POLICY FOR CHILDREN
We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 16. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 16, please contact us using the contact information provided below.
7. DATA RETENTION
All personal data of our customers is stored either in Switzerland or in the EU, which is adequate with the EU data protection requirements (https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/data-transfers-outside-eu/adequacy-protection-personal-data-non-eu-countries_en).
The time periods for which we retain your personal data depend on the purposes for which we use it. ALPEIN Software will keep your Personal Information for as long as you are a registered subscriber or user of our products or for as long as we have another business purpose to do so and, thereafter, for no longer than is required or permitted by law, or ALPEIN Software's Retention Policy, reasonably necessary for internal reporting and reconciliation purposes, or to provide you with feedback or information you might request.
